BLOG | Start Programming with just one Click

Its been just over a year since the Touch Board went live on our website, and we’ve been amazed and excited by the feedback that’s come back to us. There has however been one message that we’ve heard over and over again: make it easier to use the Touch Board’s cool featuresAs some of you know, these cool features are contained in a well-documented set of libraries for the Touch Board. They allow you to download code for capacitive touch, MP3 and MIDI possibilities, but unfortunately they can be a pain to install.

We wanted to make this process less complicated for every level of expertise, so there’s absolutely nothing standing between you and programming the board. So, we created the Touch Board Arduino Plugin Installer!

This handy and quick installer is a simple piece of software that works on MAC, Windows, Linux and Ubuntu. It will install all the Touch Board libraries and examples and check which version of Arduino you are running to make sure that your machine is made fully compatible with the board. Once you’ve run the installer you’re ready to roll. Simply open up the Arduino IDE and you’ll see that our libraries and examples are there for you to test, hack and build upon. We think the installer is the easiest Arduino-compatible installer out there.

So what can you do once you’ve ran the installer? You could make a distance sensor by adjusting thresholds, set up your Touch Board as an MP3 player with a 32GB playlist, or build a MIDI controller and connect the Touch Board to Ableton Live.

Head over to the Setting up Arduino with the Touch Board tutorial to download the plugin, and take it from there!
