Touch Board Proto Shield

The Touch Board Proto Shield provides an easy and robust way to add functions to your Touch Board, and a multitude of ways to connect to your electrodes. It features screw terminals for wired connections, a convenient ground plane for using shielded cable, a prototyping area and all pins brought up to the shield for your project.

Printed Sensors

Printed Sensors are precisely screen printed with Electric Paint and coated with a clear seal, making them smudge and water resistant. They can be bent to create 3D sensors or cut into custom shapes to fit your project. Each sheet has 16 exposed (unsealed) nodes, which can be connected to a variety of boards and clips. The pattern on the Printed Sensors has been specifically designed and tested by us for touch and proximity sensing projects.

    What amount of current and voltage can the paint handle/is recommended?.

      Hi Manju,

      We recommend for the paint to be used in applications of no more than 12VDC and 50mA.

    Can this be used to increase conductivity be-twine to pieces of metal. I need a coating to crate better connection between a circuit breaker and the bus bar.

      We wouldn’t recommend the paint to be used in such applications, we only recommend applications of up to 12VDC and 50mA.

    Hi guys. I am trying to connect the touch board to Ableton, sending notes (not CC) using capacitive touch sensing. Somehow when touching the board directly it sends a pulse, but if I use an extension (foil, wire, anything) it doesn’t read a signal. Can you tell me what the issue of the boards communcation here is? Data protocol interference? thanks in advance

    1,Your paint is water soluble which can’t be used for lo g time how can you over come this?
    2,what is the validity(till what time it will conduct) of the paint?

      Hi Syed – Yes the paint is water soluble, you can seal it with a waterproof varnish, there is a good project on How to Seal Electric Paint on our Make Page. The paint in general will last as long as the substrate it is applied to, however if it is applied to surfaces or materials that have a lot of mechanical stress such as fabric the paint can crack a little.

    Is it possible to generate different numbers into the computer with a proximity sensor implementing the Touch Board and conductive paint?
    ie. like controling a LFO with the proximity sensor and playing sounds with the other hand?
